Q&A Session on CAP: Think Fungus, Take Action (Featuring the Endemic Mycoses Algorithms)

Management of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) can be challenging. Many cases fail to respond to a course of empiric antibiotics. Should you think fungus in those situations? If so, what are the next steps to take? CDC, in conjunction with the Mycoses Study Group Education & Research Consortium (MSGERC) and the Coccidioidomycosis Study Group (CSG), developed a set of algorithms to support the recognition and diagnosis of coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis, and blastomycosis in the setting of CAP. In this Q&A webinar, participants asked questions about when to think fungus in the setting of CAP and how to take action.

Prior to watching this webinar, we encourage you to review information about these algorithms on the dedicated page or watch a free continuing education Clinical Outreach and Communication Activity Call (COCA) webinar from the CDC about the algorithms.
